Palm Grove Saud Holiday Complex Review | Pagudpud - Ilocos Norte - Philippines

Palm Grove Saud Holiday complex is located in the north-west of Pagudpud, next to the municipal beach park of Pagudpud (Walking distance (200 m)) a white sand beach. This hotel is like an homestay with a very low fare (25$ / 1200 Php - Very cheap hotel) and all you can expect for this kind of hotel!

The owners are a Canadian/English couple, they will try to do their best to accommodate their clients and we really appreciate this point. We stayed 3 nights at Palm Grove Saud Holiday Complex in April 2019 in a double bed room. This hotel has a restaurant, a bar, a free parking in front and two little swimming pools (One for children and one for adults). This hotel is a little hotel, the swimming won’t be crowned.

1. Rooms and bathrooms

This hotel has 11 rooms only which is really good, you will find standard rooms like we share in the video (There is a little bed under the big one). You can easily accommodate 2 children and 2 adults in this kind of rooms.

Then they have family rooms (2 Double Beds and 1 King bed) which can accommodate 6 adults and 3 children. The last kind of room is superior room with 2 double beds, 2 single beds , 1 king bed and 1 bunk bed (8 adults and 4 children maximum).

All the rooms have toilets, shower (Towels and soap furnished), fridge, a perfectly efficient aircon. You will also appreciate the good Wifi (Good signal in our Room (N° 7 – First floor) and a powerful internet connection).

2. Restaurant

The restaurant is located outside next to the bar and swimming pool. We really appreciate the food and the breakfast. The restaurant is open from 7 am to 9 pm accepting orders until 8 pm.

For you breakfast, you can enjoy a classic Filippino Food (Tapsilog, Tosilog, Longsilog …), an American Breakfast, Western Breakfast or delicious Pancakes with Banana and Honey or choco syrup.

For lunch and dinner you will find at affordable prices, noodles, pasta, sandwiches, soup, various seafoods (Cooked or grilled), beef, pork, sizzler. We try different and we like the shared starter platter for 2 with spring rolls, calamari, chicken wings, French fries, breaded mushrooms and onion rings. Here you will find the food we chose:

All the different kind of food was really good and the more important, the staff take care of you. You will find at least two cookers and 3/4 staff members providing a good service. They get used to accommodate lots of customers in a short time with tour operators.
In the end of afternoon they also start a street barbecue (With chicken Intestines, Pork, Chicken head, Hot dog ….)

3. Bar, souvenir shop and Swimming Pool

The bar is located next to the restaurant you can enjoy all kind of alcohol here (Rhums, Vodka, Beer Wines ...). The staff know also provides some cocktails (Margarita, Mojito, Martini …). They can turn on the karaoke on a simply asking and you will enjoy a long evening singing (Everybody love Karaoke !).
They also have a souvenir shop next to the bar with statues of windmills and some basics stuff. If ever you forget to get it while visiting the nearest attractions.

And as already told at Palm Grove Saud Holiday complex they have two tiny swimming pool, one for the little ones and the other one for adults. This swimming pool close at 9 pm but when we ask if we can go later they accept in a very nice way! The water is really clean and smell good and they keep it clean every morning.

4. Location and things to do around

As told before this hotel is at a walking distance of the beach of Pagudpud (White Sand Beach). We enjoy this beach almost every day and we like it! If you a need a relaxing travel you are at the good place. We have been to the beach mainly in the end of the afternoon to see the beautiful sunset (View on the West).

This hotel is well located near of all the attractions, you can easily enjoy in two days these ones next to Pagudpud :
Kabigan Falls : Don’t forget to bring your swimming suit to enjoy this after 1 km walk :

Patapat Viaduc : This viaduct is 1.3 km long connecting the Maharlika Highway from Ilocos Region to Cagayan Valley

Bangui Windmills : these 15 on-shore turbines are 70 m high and was inaugurated the 18 June of 2005 by Former First Lady Imelda Marcos.

In the same days you will be able to visit Kapurpurawwan Rock Formation and Bantay Abot Cave, Blue Lagoon, Burgos LightHouse and Kapurpurawan Rock formation.
As noticed this hotel is well located near of everything. We love the location of Palm Grove Saud Holiday complex which was easy to get from Laoag by bus.

This hotel is definitetly a very good choice if you plan to visit Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. We really appreciate our stay at Palm Grove Saud Holiday complex. That why we give this hotel the rating of 8/10.
